Duck Flock 10"x7" watercolour

By the rushing, gushing Spring river is a park in between two bridges.

A grazing flock of ducks chow down to the yellowed newly exposed grass.

A dried out landscape of bush, tree and grasses surround the gazebo.

The open field happily feeds the ducks.

Bottoms Up-10"x7" watercolour

Bottoms up, three, four ducks down, mooning.

Flowing like corks with their flippered feet a flapping.

Popping up for a moment's breath then down again.

The current is swift and fast, just breath.

Jogged Ducks-10"x7" watercolour

Along a path that winds by the shore there is a small bridge over a stream.

Ducks bath unseen until a disturbance.

Startled birds explode into a flapping quacking escape.

Rhythmic pulsing beat of his feet, the jogger doesn't notice.

Swan Majesty-10"x7" watercolour

There at the mouth of the river as it drains into the basin is a house named Swan.

A quacking crowd parts, with regal measured steps her majesty presents herself.

There were three now one: her mate and off spring drowned, caught in fishing lines.

She is alone now, a swan among ducks, she has splendour and place, Queen.

Duck Hideaway -10"x7" watercolour

Cat tail screen behind a small hill with a babbling black winter stream.

Private from condos and walking path; ducks bath.

This is their recluse, their spa away from the quacking crowd.

Only a light pattern reveals their movement in their own escape.

Ducks Swim in Sky-10"x7" watercolour

At the end of the fast flowing river, under the bridge that drains into the basin is a swimming hole of sorts.

Quacking and flapping the ducks socialize before their morning dip.

Some lie by the water sunning while others primp and prune or just chatter and make loud noise.

Blue sky in the water that the duck's swimming ripples over in pattern that falls behind.

This all happens under a well travelled bridge unnoticed.
