Crocus 10"x7" watercolour

A mat of twigs, straw, dried grass and withered leaves over dirt is broken open.

Life with new, fresh colour emerges in green and purple from the dead ground.

Crocus flower announcing Spring loudly, with;

Vibrant, luscious, luminous, luxurious colour.

Marina Waits 10"x7"watercolour

Vacant bare branched mauve and dark green trees are a backdrop to club.

Crowded jumble of tented boats lie dormant in temporary marina and wait.

Early Spring sunlight, spotlight and illuminate against the background.

Soon, so soon their true nature will be seen in the grace of their bow.

Spring Swing 10"x7" watercolour

On a cold bright Spring day by the waters edge is a children's playground.

Bundled in winter coat, wool mittens, hat and stockings and snow boots a decision is made.

Long unused swings invite. "Lets play. Lets play"

Answering a child replies gleefully soaring and flying up.

Gate 10"x7" watercolour

In the middle of an unkepted hedge is a unused gate with two pillars either side.

No footprints in the snow, no one shovels, no path leads to the old Victoria house it is in front of.

The wrought iron grill, hinges and lock are all rusted stains run down the concrete mortar and brick.

A gate from long ago from nowhere to nowhere but its strength and beauty still stand now.

Sea Gull Waits 7"x 10" watercolour

The river empties into the basin where a boat mooring flows with guest.

A top a bright vibrant magenta sphere on fast moving water a sea gull perches.

Looking out to sea waiting, nobly waiting, with chest out and eyes high, waiting.

It is Spring but the boats are not in and so we wait with chin up.

Railway Bridge 7"x10" watercolour

A railway bridge spans over a rushing river and road on pillars of stone.

It has a look of age like it has been there forever, strong and weathered.

Light hits on it's charactered and multi-textured surface of wall, disappearing in shadow.

Two runners pass under in cover of casted shadow silhouetted.

Bright Climb 10"x7" watercolour

Sunshine glistens and glimmers off the basin's shore.

Clear and clean the bottom of pebbles and stones can be seen.

There are steep stairs ascending the sea wall to challenge and clammer up.

The escape, the climb, the victory; Mom's hand planted on back undetected.

To happily exclaim. "I DID IT MYSELF! I DID IT MYSELF!"

Red Umbrella 10"x7" watercolour

April showers, icy, bone chilling, cold, windy and wet.

A lone hooded woman walking her plaid dressed dog forges on.

Bright red umbrella stands out against a background of greyed sodden.

Blue pavement and ochre cement with reflections of trees, dog and woman.

Duck Flock 10"x7" watercolour

By the rushing, gushing Spring river is a park in between two bridges.

A grazing flock of ducks chow down to the yellowed newly exposed grass.

A dried out landscape of bush, tree and grasses surround the gazebo.

The open field happily feeds the ducks.

Swan Swarm 7"x10" watercolour

Skyward thugs brass, crass and rude, insulting, barking and squawking.

Swarming, diving, circling and teasing a gang of gulls harass.

A meal and peace disturbed causing even a royal mute swan to cry out.

Water ripples radiating outward and the moment passes.
